Who are we trying to kid?

I pray that this week, through closeness with the Lord, He would purge our hearts of the marks of unbelief— cynicism, doubt, fear, discouragement, anxiety, worry, and control.

Today marked the first time I have preached a sermon to a live camera absent a congregation. I typically preach just once a month or so, so I have been spared this awkward endeavor until today.

It was in the wilderness that “the Lord used to speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend.” (Exodus 33:11)

The Bible is filled with examples of believers who went when God called them to go- the redemptive history of the world is full of these stories. But for each person who went, there were also many who did not go.
